“SOME PEOPLE I’VE MET WHO PROBABLY DON’T REMEMBER ME” (OTTOMAN)
The artist George Stoll wrote the poem, “Some People I've Met Who Probably Don't Remember Me” and commissioned custom-made fabric that wove the poem’s text into cotton fabric. The fabric was then used to upholster a limited series ottoman. The graphic design challenge was to typeset the poem’s words into a readable pattern that met with fabric manufacturing specifications. Next, a three-panel brochure was created to promote the piece. Inside, the interior triptych of photographs includes a 1" square fabric swatch glued to the center panel of every brochure. The fabric swatch adds an element of surprise and texture to the printed piece.
